1. Setting up your Etsy shop
Open your Etsy seller account, choose a shop name that reflects your niche (e.g. botanical prints, vintage travel posters), and complete your shop profile with a banner, logo, and about section. Etsy gives more visibility to complete profiles.
2. Creating professional mockups
Product mockups are the single biggest factor in conversion rate. Buyers cannot touch or see your print in person — your mockup is the product. Use PSD mockup templates with Smart Object layers to swap in your artwork without re-doing composition, lighting, or shadows each time.
- Use at least 5 listing images per product
- Show the product in context (on a wall, in a room)
- Include a size reference image (A4 next to a door, etc.)
- Show multiple colourways if applicable
3. Etsy SEO — titles and tags
Etsy search ranks listings by keyword relevance, recency, and conversion rate. Use all 13 tags. Put your most important keywords in the title first. Avoid repeating the same phrase in both title and tags — use variations.
- Research keywords with Etsy autocomplete and eRank
- Target long-tail phrases (e.g. "botanical wall art print A4" not just "wall art")
- Refresh listings that have not sold in 90 days
4. Pricing your prints
Price for profit, not just to undercut competitors. Factor in: print cost, Etsy fees (6.5% transaction + 0.20 listing fee + 3% payment processing), packaging, and your time. A common minimum for UK sellers: £12–18 for A4, £18–28 for A3.
5. Automating with PSDmate
PSDmate automates the repetitive parts of running a POD shop:
- Generate mockups by dropping in your artwork — no Photoshop needed
- Create Etsy listings with AI-generated titles, descriptions, and tags
- Bulk generate mockups for multiple artworks at once
- Auto-create slideshow videos for Etsy listing videos
